Orbit’s direction and roadmap.

Explore Orbit’s local preview, the controls you keep and the roadmap ahead. Planned capabilities remain in development until their release is announced.

Where your work is stored and processed.

The diagram shows the local preview. With accounts enabled, saved work and account data are stored in Supabase in Sydney, and Stripe handles payments. Live AI processing uses the configured provider. See Privacy and data for details.

Nothing leaves this computer in the unconnected local preview. Demo replies are scripted and labelled Demo. No AI model is called and nothing is sent to an AI provider. Account mode still communicates with Supabase and Stripe when those services are used.

What the local development preview demonstrates

  • Persistent chats, edit, regenerate, undo. Stopping a reply keeps what was written.
  • Work modes. Chat, Write, Research, Analyse, Plan, Code, Markets and Agent each follow a different workflow.
  • Verified answers from your files. Quotes are checked word-for-word; clicking a citation opens the passage.
  • Workspace documents. Versions, section-level revision with a reviewable diff, undo, Word, Markdown, CSV and code download.
  • Project briefs. Goals, decisions, questions and next steps that change only when you accept a suggestion.
  • Local drafts. Tasks and notes you review and approve. Nothing leaves your computer.
  • Agent with tools. Multi-step work with 24 local tools, every step shown; it proposes rather than changes.
  • Comparison and table calculations. Differences, open questions and visible formulas: structural checks, not understanding.
  • Manual workflows. Start them yourself; review every step.
  • Markets research and paper trading. Source-grounded analysis, a simulated ledger, a backtester and a risk calculator.

What comes next

Development roadmap — intentions, not release dates.

  • More document formats. PDF reading and page-linked citations, then broader document support.
  • Richer analysis. Charts with visible source numbers and editable tables.
  • Broader research and creation. Web research, voice and image workflows, introduced as they are ready.
  • Isolated code execution. A dedicated environment for running and checking generated code, subject to security validation.
  • Connected projects. Portable project exports and future NovaSoft One and Sites integrations, with explicit access controls.
  • Background workflows. Scheduled work with review, spending controls and clear approval steps.

Controls you keep.

Export everything

One click in Settings downloads all your chats, files, documents, projects and drafts as JSON.

Delete everything

Removes every chat, file, document, project, draft and preference. Usage totals are kept so spending limits stay accurate.

Approve before anything happens

Document edits are proposals, drafts need approval, and brief updates are suggestions. Nothing can approve itself.

Spending limits

Live AI refuses to start without a monthly cap, and requests that would pass it are declined.

Saved work is stored on this computer and is not encrypted at rest by Orbit. See Privacy and data for the details.
